Transient Light Tarot
$26.99
Formerly a successful indie published kickstarter! The Transient Light Tarot celebrates the beauty of transience through the eyes of queer artist Ari Wisner and a guidebook collaboration with poet Fausta Joly. This deck is printed sustainably on great, heavyweight kraft stock. We love that!
This deck is based on the traditional Smith Waite Tarot, and includes a diversity of non-gendered bodies so the imagery can open up more fully to every individual. This is how the Tarot was intended to work!
Ari says: “How people are represented in the tarot is important to get right – I truly want everyone to be able to see themselves in the cards, regardless of their gender identity, sexuality, ethnicity or body. Traditionally, the tarot has been white, straight, and gendered in a strict binary. For this reason, I have renamed traditionally gendered cards but preserved the characters they represent. I have reduced how much the human body is used as an image, favouring objects and elements to depict characters and themes. Polarities are so important – but they are not categories for people, but a reminder of the vast diversity that stands between them!”
