You’re in the flow, kid.

It’s almost warm outside today, and I am thinking about spring, summer, and warmer weather in general. I was looking at photographs I took last year at the beach. I came upon this special one from September, 2018, just after I’d made the decision to leave what had been my dream job at Etsy for seven years and throw myself fully into my skincare and perfuming business, which ultimately became STAR + SPLENDOR. I just knew that I needed to be of service to a different community. I was literally shaking with fear but my courage was more fierce. This photo was taken at my favorite beach in Southampton, Long Island, where I have spent many summers since I was a child. A couple of weeks prior, as I was lying down with two beach-tired toddlers and fighting sleep because I had “so much to do,” even on vacation, a voice in my head said, “It’s time for you to leave now.” I knew that I’d never forgive myself if I didn’t take that step.

On our next visit to the beach, my ultimate happy place, I spotted this message on a large boulder next to the pull off. I’d been here so many times over the course of my life, but this was the first time I’d noticed this rock! I knew it was one of those synchronistic moments telling me, You’re in the flow kid. Keep moving forward.
